WhatsUp product offers strong and highly effective tools for managing data networks, monitoring of applications and individual communication protocols for computer networks with several devices, as well as for large-scale systems. Data are collected through the SNMP protocol (v1, v2, v3) or through the WMI protocol. These capabilities enable to predict failure states on devices (filling disks, memory utilization, CPU utilization, running applications, etc.). The system administrator is informed about all events via the web application interface, for remote administration can be set up e-mail or SMS sending in case of exceeding defined conditions. The system also allows you to set up sending of periodic reports.

Extending through plugins
The company Ipswitch Inc. has produced a new version of WhatsUp Gold 12.3, including an extension of new plugins - WhatsUp Gold NetFlow Monitor and WhatsUp Gold WhatsConnected.
This new version provides enhancements to the product architecture and automated migration process for database updating from previous versions of WhatsUp Gold 11.x to new version 12.3.
New plug-ins can be easily installed into the current installation of WhatsUp Gold and provide all information and insights in the same console.
